Aurora House
Aurora House is a transitional housing program operated by MNLC to support women and families who have experienced human trafficking, gender-based violence, or other forms of exploitation.
At Aurora House, residents receive trauma-informed care, housing stability, and the tools they need to heal and rebuild their lives. Aurora House was founded through the vision and compassion of Toronto United Mennonite Church (TUMC), in response to the urgent need for long-term housing for survivors in Toronto.
From the beginning, MNLC has played a central role in supporting Aurora House through case management and operational expertise. In 2025, MNLC formally became the sole operator, integrating Aurora House into its continuum of care and community services. With this transition, MNLC has committed to expanding the reach and impact of Aurora House. As Toronto’s housing crisis intensifies and the need for survivor-centered services grows, MNLC is scaling fundraising efforts to meet immediate demands and build long-term sustainability for the program.
To date, the program has supported more than 60 women, providing a path to safety, stability, and renewed independence.

Support MNLC’s Aurora House Program
Since 2016, Aurora House has provided safety, stability, and a place to heal for women recovering from trafficking, exploitation, and abuse. Our work happens quietly, at a confidential home in Toronto’s east end community, but its impact is life changing.
Aurora House relies on the generosity of individuals, community groups, and partners who believe that every woman deserves safety, dignity, and a real chance to rebuild her life.
By supporting Aurora House, you help ensure that survivors have access to housing, basic needs, trauma-informed care, and the wraparound services that make long-term recovery possible.
There are many ways to make a meaningful difference: donate, partner with us, organize a community fundraiser, or become a Friend of Aurora House. However you choose to help, your support directly strengthens the pathway to safety and independence for women who need it most.
